Time for You! eBook Bundle
Do you find it difficult to say ‘no’? Do you find yourself saying ‘yes’ when you would much rather say ‘no’? It isn’t surprising; most of us learn that saying ‘no’ is selfish. Women, in particular, are taught from a young age to be compliant and selfless. But it isn’t just women who need to establish firm boundaries. Men need to set boundaries, as well. We impact both our health and overall happiness without firmly established limits.
At work, volunteering for tasks or working late is seen as being a “good team player.” Friends and family can expect you to take responsibility for making them happy or making their lives easier. And be honest, being the good guy who they can always rely on, who won’t let them down – that can feel pretty good.
It can often be hard to establish your boundaries for fear of creating tension. That same fear can build pressure without you realizing it. When you let people take advantage of your kindness, it will eventually take its toll on your happiness.
When you’re not your usual happy self, those around you will pick up on that, and the dark atmosphere can forge distance. On the other hand, when you have firm boundaries and say no when you aren’t comfortable with something, people will quickly understand what your limits are.
Once they’ve adapted to your limits, they won’t keep pushing those boundaries, and you won’t have to keep saying no. In the end, you’ll avoid tension, and everyone – including you – will be able to enjoy life more fully. Remember, take care of yourself before taking care of others.
You’re allowed to say no.
Why is putting our needs first so crucial to health, happiness, and success?
- It staves off burn-out
- It sets you up to live a fulfilled, joyful life
- It keeps you focused on what’s important
- It helps you refocus when you feel overwhelmed or at a loss as to what should come next
- It aids in recuperating from stress so that stress doesn’t build-up
As we head into a new season, if you would like to begin making yourself a priority, but don’t know where to start, you’re in the right place. Often, many people, especially introverts, don’t know how to get from where they are to where they want to be. This bundle includes three popular ebooks, “Taking Care of Yourself First!”, “How to Say No,” and “Be More Assertive.” We will go through several steps that are very important to self-transformation through thoughtful prioritization, a technique that I refer to as the “Time for You!” process. By the time you finish reading, you’ll not only find that putting yourself first is worth the effort, but you’ll also know how to make it happen! Get on board and move toward living a reality where self-care and filling your cup first isn’t a reward, but a necessity. Then, if you are interested in learning more, you will find posts on the blog, newsletter updates, and several courses that will go into further details - one course to look for is “How to Live Authentically in a World of Faking It.” We all have people in our lives that have loved us no matter what and those that continue to support us as grow into our purpose. We need to show this same love and kindness to ourselves.
